It has been a year since some of us at cfLIVE first kicked around the idea of starting a blog; and we’re very excited to now have it underway. To start things off, I want to give a (very) brief overview of who we are as a ministry, and what our vision is for the blog.
As many of you know, cfLIVE is the college ministry of a local non-denominational body of believers called Christian Fellowship Church. We therefore share the values and affirmations of our larger church family. Among these are an emphasis on genuine community (that is, living and sharing lives together as the body of Christ), and a passion for the centrality of God in all things. The addition of a blog will hopefully be a means to encourage these values, and facilitate conversation on deeper questions relating to God, life, ethics, and culture.
What does God have to do with Man of Steel, or the unfortunate circumstances in which “twerk” was recently added to my vocabulary? A lot, I think; and I’m thankful for the privilege to consider such questions from a Christian perspective.
A little about myself:
My name is Kaleb Watkins and I’ll be one of the primary contributors here on the blog. I’m an undergrad at Mizzou studying biology and philosophy. I also love music and film. 🙂
Be sure to check back next week, when another contributor will introduce himself, and leave a comment below to let us know you found the page. Have a great week, a happy Labor Day, and I’ll see you all next Wednesday night!
