Our heart is to be intentional with what God has given us as a people. To have a shared focus as a church on stewardship. This isn’t about pressure or guilt, and it isn’t about meeting a financial target. It’s about trust. Trusting God together.
It’s about learning to care well for everything God has entrusted to us: our time, our gifts, our relationships, our finances, and our opportunities.
We believe that stewardship is a work of the Holy Spirit. That to steward well starts with spending time in prayer. During the Lenten season we have organized a variety of ways for us to pray together as a church in addition to our personal prayer times.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
At CF we have three main ways in which people can give:
Tithes and Offering: These funds go directly to pay for our operating fund (programing, staff, and etc).
Building Fund: We still carry a note for our current location from our build in 2021. All donations to this fund go directly to paying down the principal of that loan.
Neighbor and Nations: These funds go to helping those in need both locally and globally. As well as supporting our global workers.
Serving is part of who we are as followers of Christ. At CF our focus is to use our combined resources and God-given gifts to serve our church in a variety of ways such as: greeting, teaching kids, leading worship, and more. We also encourage serving beyond our four walls in the community and around the world.
Additionally, we have found one of the best ways to build relationships and strengthen our connections within the church is to serve alongside one another!
Jesus fed the hungry, healed the sick, and taught radical sharing. We too are called to share when we see a need. Though we understand as humans we are finite and limited, we also believe that by trusting God with what he has given us we can move beyond living with a scarcity mindset. Which opens us up to being able to see and step into the needs around us.
If you would like to receive updates on needs in our midst you can sign up for our Practical Needs Newsletter and our group Network for Families.
One of the ways the early church gave and received love was by hosting. The disciples devoted themselves to fellowship – to being together, building friendships, listening, and encouraging one another, and enjoying each other’s company. They devoted themselves to breaking bread together, sharing meals and living space together.
One way we live this out together at CF is through our Fellowship Groups. You can find a group to join on our website or let us know if you would like to learn more about volunteering to host a group.
In 2023 we taught on the topic of Koinonia. During this series, we used Acts 2:42-47 as a guide for how to be in fellowship together and generous toward others.
