I grew up around the Lake of the Ozarks, exploring the endless, wooded hills around my home, believing I was born a couple of centuries too late. I had an encounter with Jesus before leaving high school for the University of Missouri, which changed the trajectory of my life. I found other Jesus people at UMC and joined the group that later became Christian Fellowship Church.
I joined the pastoral staff at CF in 1986 and helped coordinate small groups, teach Bible classes, and do other pastoral stuff. In the early 1990’s, I was asked by the CF pastoral team to help lead Christian Fellowship School and I soon moved from school pastor to school principal, where I served until 2020. I retired from full-time pastoral ministry in June of 2022. I have been married to my lovely, smart, and amazing wife, Jane, for 40 years and have two grown children and one above average grandchild.
I still enjoy hiking the woods on occasion, bicycling on the MKT and Katy Trails, and driving my poor man’s Porsche 914.
I have always wanted to give my life to something that brings increase to the Kingdom of God, and leading Christian Fellowship School certainly did that. We equipped children and young people to follow Jesus and to make a difference in a very complex and changing world.
