The Greater Narrative
March 19, 2017 - Phil Schaefer
2 Corinthians 3:7-14
Pastor Phil continues his teaching of The Unveiling series with this week's podcast titled, The Greater Narrative. We review 3 main ideas how Personal Piety, The Domain of the Powers - Sin, Death, The Law, Satan, and The crucifixion of Christ is of cosmic consequence. There is no place in heaven or earth or under the earth that Christ does not proclaim it is mine! Our vision needs to be bi-focal: a seeing near & a seeing far. We do not work to attain righteousness. Let us become what we already are. This victory through Christ is accomplished by God and by God alone. That’s my confidence.
The Cruciform Life
March 12, 2017 - Phil Schaefer
2 Corinthians 3: 7-18
In the second sermon from the sermon series Unveiled, Pastor Phil Schaefer teaches on the cruciform life or the cross shaped life; that is the life of living, suffering, dying, burying and resurrecting into a new life shaped by Jesus Christ. Listen to hear more on how the cruciform life applies to all of our lives.
The Scandal of the Cross
March 05, 2017 - Phil Schaefer
2 Corinthians 3: 7-17
In first sermon of our Lent sermon series, Pastor Phil Schaefer teaches on the scandalous nature of the cross. The crucifixion "is irreligious because no human individually or humans collectively would have projected their hopes, wishes, longings, and needs onto a crucified man," and "[the cross's] central focus [on] the suffering and degradation of...God" is scandalous.
