Praying the Hours | The Empowering Presence of the Holy Spirit

We encourage you to take 3 specific times throughout each day to pray and reflect.

Use the prompts below as a guide.

Morning

Begin with a moment of silence. Become aware of God’s presence with you. Open yourself to God’s love and action in you and through you this day.

Meditation: Read: 1 Corinthians 12:1-31 and 1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Reflect: Is there a place, relationship, conversation or area in your life where you are specifically needing the grace of the Spirit?

Ask for the loving and empowering presence of the Holy Spirit to lead you in Love today.

End: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and power and glory, forever. Amen.

Mid-Day

Meditation: Read: Ephesians 3:14-21 & John 15:1-17

Reflect: Ask for a fresh experience of the Holy Spirit in your life. Is there a specific area of challenge or longing?

Where are you sensing an invitation of Christ to abide and rest in Him?

Allow the words from Scripture to form your prayer.

End: Pray that we as the body of Christ would make Love our Aim as we follow Jesus in His way and life.

Evening

Gratitude: Reflect on your day. Express gratitude for anything that comes to mind.

Meditation: Read Galatians 5:22-26

Reflect: Where did you experience love, patience, joy, kindness, gentleness, self-control in your day or how did you experience the presence of God with you today?

Ask for the Holy Spirit to speak and lead you in Love for the day to come.

End: Keep watch dear Lord with those who wait or watch or weep this night. Give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend to the sick, give rest to the weary, sustain the dying, calm the suffering, shield the joyous, give mercy to the distressed. All for your loves sake. Amen
