Oneness Resources

Genesis 1:27 reads, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

This verse is the basis for the term Imago Dei, which means “image of God.” It conveys that humans are created in God’s image in their moral, intellectual, and spiritual nature. For us here at CF, this truth means that all people have inherent worth and dignity and should be treated with equality, respect, and honor. Genesis 1:27 is a Biblical call to oneness.

We live this conviction by:

  • Gaining a greater degree of clarity on persistent inequities that affect our church, our neighbors, and the nations.
  • Strengthening our effectiveness and deepening our public witness to be a compelling vision of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Avoiding the marginalization of diverse perspectives of women, communities of color, and other minoritized populations.
  • Tearing down barriers that keep people from experiencing the love of Christ.
  • Enhancing our lives by having multiethnic influences and friendships and being shaped by multiethnic leaders.
  • Doing life together as the diverse body of Christ.

Anticipating Antioch Class

The word Christian means “little Christs” or “belonging to the party of Christ.” The Bible tells us in Acts 11:26 that society could not identify the church in Antioch by the things that set them apart or divided them from each other. They had to create an innovative word that described what they had in common. So, they gave them the name “Christians.”

At CF, we desire to be an Antioch church. So much so that we have created a class to help people dive deeper into what oneness, justice, and diversity really look like.

Anticipating Antioch will return this fall. Check back here for upcoming class dates.
