Step Into the Neighborhood
“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, generous inside and out, true from start to finish.” – John 1:14 (The Message version)
Each year we set aside the weeks in November and December to receive our Community Compassion Offering that enables us to show compassion to many people within our own congregation and in our broader community. This offering also allows us to partner with agencies in our community who specialize in meeting the needs of people in our city.
The church office gets several calls for help every week. Because of your faithfulness to give to this offering, our church gets the opportunity to step into the neighborhood to respond and touch people’s lives. We get to say, “We notice you. We see you. You have dignity.” Sometimes we respond with an affirmation, a prayer, and a kind word. Other times we respond with financial assistance. Often, we offer a referral to a partner agency who is more qualified to meet their need.
Whether it is financial giving or volunteering, every little bit makes a difference. We encourage you during Community Compassion this year to ask Him: “How can I step into the neighborhood?”
More information about the agencies and ministries we partner with can be found below.
Another way we can help is by donating financially.
