What seems to be a very practical service project has become a gift of compassion and comfort to breast cancer patients. Our very own Linda McBee, having seen the fear and discomfort of many of her beloved friends walking through breast cancer treatments decided to do something about it. Using creativity, compassion, and her sewing skills, she partnered with hospitals in Springfield to supply a bit of practical compassion through a heart shaped pillow and seat belt cover designed to help prevent pain after common breast cancer surgical procedures.
Now that Linda has relocated to Columbia, her desire is to begin Hug A Heart here at CF and continue to bless breast cancer patients with a soft pillow, a tender prayer, and another voice of hope. She’s going to need a lot of help!
How you can help:
- Come help assemble these pillows, the 2nd and 4th Mondays 10:00 am – 2:00pm in the cfKidz Ministry Building – all levels of sewing skills are needed!
- Donate cute fleece and pillow stuffing
- Help transport finished pillows to the hospitals.
