Heather is a missionary of Agape Missionary Alliance from Little Rock, AR. After graduating from MU in 2001, she attended Agape School of World Evangelism, which included missions training in Belize and Costa Rica. Camilo is originally from Peru and has a master’s in missions from a Christian university in Costa Rica (UNELA). He has also been a missionary in Ecuador.
Camilo has been serving in Costa Rica since 1999 and Heather has been serving in Costa Rica since 2005. They met in Costa Rica and married in 2007. Heather and Camilo have two children; Joshua, who was born in 2009 and Elias who was born in 2015.
The Espinoza’s work in Costa Rica includes children’s ministry training workshops, children’s crusades, and Bible study groups for mothers and children. Heather’s focus is the “Mom and Me” groups. She is able to reach many unchurched mothers and their children through this program.
Each week Heather teaches them a Bible lesson and a practical parenting lesson. After the lessons, the mothers and children do a craft together. Heather also bakes hundreds of cookies each week to give out as snack to the mothers and children at the groups.
