Phil’s Book Discussion

Pastor Phil's Book Discussion "We Need to Talk About Race"Leader: Phil Schaefer
Time: Wednesdays, 7 to 8 p.m. (July – August)
Platform: In-person in the Multipurpose Room and online via Zoom (link below)
Description: This class will read and discuss the book, “We Need To Talk About Race” by Ben Lindsay. Lindsay is a black pastor who is British and serves in a white majority church. He provides a heartfelt format to help those in majority white churches come to a better understanding as to how we can express not only diversity in our midst, but also solidarity. His perspective from England broadens the scope for seeing racial unity as not strictly an American one, but one that the Church must grapple with throughout the world.
This class is just one example of how we are trying to foster better racial relationships through understanding, harmony, and unity. To learn more we encourage you to read our Fourfold Mission For Advancing Racial Relationships.
Materials Needed: We Need To Talk About Race: Understanding the Black Experience in White Majority Churches by Ben Lindsay. Kindle, audiobook, and paperback versions are available on Amazon.

Prayer Trios

Prayer trios are groups of three people who pray together weekly. Once you have two others to pray with, you can pick a time and platform (phone, text, zoom, Facebook messanger, etc.) that works for you. The idea is to pray together for one hour, once per week. However, you can make this what you want and do what works for you. As Phil mentioned, “though we are limited in direct contact, we are not limited in our prayers.” Let’s pray.
