Reading the Bible Together

Let’s Read The Bible In Community

One of the core values at Christian Fellowship is The Word of God. We believe that reading the Bible is essential to our growth as Christians. That it opens us up to hearing the heart of God.

Likewise, reading the scriptures together allows us to learn and mature in community. We encourage you to choose a plan or plans to read throughout the year with friends or family. A great resource to find reading plans is The Bible App, which can be accessed on your iOS or Android phone or your Web Browser.

Plans suggested from our pastors:

The Daily Readings expand the range of biblical reading by providing daily citations for the full three year cycle of the Revised Common Lectionary. These readings complement the Sunday and festival readings: Thursday through Saturday readings help prepare the reader for the Sunday ahead; Monday through Wednesday readings help the reader reflect on and digest what they heard in worship.

How long does it take to read through the entire Bible? Would you guess just 90 days? The Bible in 90 Days is a reading plan created by Ted Cooper in 2002. It is designed to walk you through the scriptures over the course of just three months. That works out to 12 pages of reading each day—a commitment, but certainly manageable, and one that’s well worth making.

Following aspects of the traditional Jewish order in the Old Testament, this plan offers a sustainable reading pace. Which allows you to experience first the Old Testament and then the New Testament in one year. Each day, you’ll explore an average of four chapters, and you’ll close your time in prayer by reading a Psalm.

This plan takes you on a journey through the entire Bible over the course of one year. Each book includes videos specifically designed to enhance your understanding and engagement with Scripture.

This plan will go through the New Testament four times per year, the Old Testament once, Psalms twice, and Proverbs four times per year.
