African Worship

Every Sunday at 4:00 p.m., Christian Fellowship offers a very unique worship experience. Everyone is welcome!

How It Started

Pastor Jean Claude Ntimpa and Pastor Nene Peter have been leading a church in Columbia for the last 5 years. They saw a need for a church in which newly transplanted immigrants from a variety of African countries could come together to encourage one another, build each other up in faith, and worship and pray in their native languages and in their native style and dress. Their common experiences and backgrounds created a strong community and a familiar church style brought comfort and unity.

Since 2007, Christian Fellowship has been home to many African immigrants, students, and scholars who have been a regular part of our morning services. Many of these same people also attended an African church service on Sunday afternoons. In the spring and summer of 2016, Pastor Nene and Pastor Jean Claude approached the leadership of Christian Fellowship about the possibility of meeting with and becoming a part of Christian Fellowship Church. Their desire is to continue holding services in the African church style, but also to be a part of the larger community at Christian Fellowship Church.

As Pastor Nene and Jean Claude would say, “One church, three services.” We hope you can stop by and check out the 4:00 p.m. meeting at CF. Though the main languages spoken during the third service are Swahili and Kinyarwanda, additional translation (French, English, additional African languages, etc.) will be provided as needed. Everyone is welcome and nurseries are available!
