Elder, Executive Team
Michael AcockBackground: My wife, Jill, and I have been a part of CF since 1997, and I’ve had the opportunity to be on staff for the last 20 years. During that time, I have served as the children’s ministry director, IT director, administrative pastor/business manager, and most recently the executive and missions pastor. In November of 2021, I began serving in the role of lead pastor. I now teach on a regular basis and enjoy discerning with our elders and executive team the direction God is giving to us as a church. I also love meeting with young couples for pre-marital counseling and helping married couples understand their relationships emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Jill and I have also enjoyed serving as small group and ministry leaders for most of the last 20 years. We have three grown children - Jordan, Emily, and Simmone. Likes: I enjoy running, biking, and reading almost anything. Jill and I love hiking on trails and spending time together laughing and doing life with our kids. Another personal favorite is binge watching NCIS (or any other series) on Netflix. We love having people in our home, and doing life together with our friends and their children. It could also be said that I kind of like coffee. Motivations: I am passionate about people and God’s working in restorative and redemptive ways in each of our lives through Jesus Christ. As we dive into real community with one another, we discover God is there and is powerfully for us, and has loved us, is loving us, and will continue to love us. I want to help each person begin to live out of the truth of their belovedness in God and image God in the earth as only they can by God’s design. I want each person to know that they are seated in the Father's love, centered on Jesus, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Scott WilliamsBackground: I grew up around the Lake of the Ozarks, exploring the endless, wooded hills around my home, believing I was born a couple of centuries too late. I had an encounter with Jesus before leaving high school for the University of Missouri, which changed the trajectory of my life. I found other Jesus people at UMC and joined the group that later became Christian Fellowship Church. I joined the pastoral staff at CF in 1986 and helped coordinate small groups, teach Bible classes and do other pastoral stuff. In the early 1990’s, I was asked by the CF pastoral team to help lead Christian Fellowship School and I soon moved from school pastor to school principal, which I serve as to this day. I have been married to my lovely, smart, and amazing wife, Jane, for 40 years and have two grown children and one above average grandchild. Likes: I still enjoy hiking the woods on occasion, bicycling on the MKT and Katy Trails, and driving my poor man’s Porsche 914. Motivations: I have always wanted to give my life to something that brings increase to the Kingdom of God, and leading Christian Fellowship School certainly does that. We are equipping children and young people to follow Jesus and to make a difference in a very complex and changing world.
Church Life Pastor
Beth BramstedtBackground: I grew up in Kansas City, moved to Ozark for high school, and am proud to call it my hometown. I met my husband, Chris, while studying journalism at Mizzou and working at the campus McDonald’s. During college, I joined the staff of a church plant and we ended up calling it our church home for 25 years. Over that time, I worked with almost every ministry and eventually went back to school to be certified as a church business administrator. I served as the administrative pastor for 15 years, creating the infrastructures needed to care for people and sustain our growth. Since then, I dusted off my journalism credentials and spent a very fun three years as the editorial director for COMO magazine. Chris and I have two grown sons and are currently enjoying life as empty nesters! Likes: In my free time you can find me writing, traveling the world, listening to country music, studying theology, trying our newest local restaurant, devouring Christian fiction, or hanging out with friends and family. I am a storyteller at heart and love hearing, sharing, and experiencing what makes each of us unique. I love pink and citrus Jelly Belly’s! Motivations: I believe that all people matter to God and were created with a unique purpose. I am passionate about helping people discover that purpose and develop it for the sake of others. I also get excited about creating structures, content, and environments that transform people’s lives and build healthy, growing churches. I quickly fell in love with the people and vision of Christian Fellowship and am excited to once again be serving a local church full-time and preparing us for future growth!
Elder, Executive Team
Steve BoulBackground: Having grown up in England, I took a year out after high school to do an internship project here at CF before going to university back in England. It was during that year that I met Sara and after three years of transatlantic dating we got married. We have four daughters, Chloe and Charlize who are twins, Caelan, and Catriana. Over the years I have spent my time working for the church, and teaching math at a variety of levels. We have lived here in Columbia, in Wilmington NC, and most recently Bedford in England where I was teaching math at a 450 year old all boys boarding school. Likes: I generally just like hanging out with friends and family. If that involves a rugby ball or a stand-up paddleboard then all the better. Motivations: Jesus. He continually wins my heart with his kindness and following him has been the greatest adventure of my life.
Jean Claude Ntimpa
Jean Claude NtimpaBackground: I am from Burundi, but came to the United States from Tanzania where I was living as a refugee. It was in the refugee camp that I trained to be a pastor. On February 7, 1999 I was ordained as a pastor. My wife (who I lovingly refer to as my Queen) and I, have 9 children and 3 grandchildren. I speak multiple languages and would like to have 3 more children! I help lead Third Service and care for the people who attend.
Marc GalaskeBackground: I grew up in St. Louis, which is where I met my wife, Lori. Seven months after we were married we moved to Columbia to be a part of CF, a place wherein we felt like we were home! In 1994, when our daughter was in 7th grade, I began volunteering with the Youth Ministry. And then in 2003 I came on staff as the Youth Pastor… and I've never looked back. Likes: I have been married for 35 years. I am the father of two, father-in-law of two, and grandparent ("Pop Pop") to four! I enjoy tinkering with wood, and have recently found I actually enjoy grilling and learning how to cook! Motivations: Few things move me more than seeing preteens/teenagers open their hearts and lives to the gospel of grace in the person of Jesus! It is an amazing privilege to witness students move from the faith of their parents to making it their own.
Nene PeterBackground: I immigrated to the United States from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2002, during a terrible war, attackers from a rival tribe attacked my village. I was separated from my family as other men and I tried to lure the attackers away from the women and children. When I returned, I was told my family was dead. I frantically searched for my wife and three kids in Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya, but was unable to find them. In 2008 I had the opportunity to immigrate to the United States and arrived in St. Louis in January. But even in the United States, I never gave up searching for my family. In February of 2008, I learned my family had been found safe in Kenya, so I started the process to get them to the U.S. as refugees. We were finally reunited in 2013 and now live together in Columbia, Missouri. I help lead, preach and sing songs in several native African languages during Third Service.
Phil SchaeferBackground: My wife Deb and I are natives of St. Louis and attended MU. We have three grown sons with families who are scattered across the country. We are both foodies. Likes: I am always reading. I like the challenge of running marathons, vacations doing nothing but sitting on the beach, and I enjoy engaging people who are nothing like myself. Motivations: “This world is a vast and diverse sea of humanity made in the image of God. The larger my world, the larger is my God.”
Deb SchaeferBackground: I grew up Catholic and am one of six children. For college I attended University of Missouri for food and nutrition. I have three grown children and 4 grandchildren. Likes: When I have time, I love to create meals bursting with flavor. I love spending time with my family—husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. I love to read. I love to pray. I love music, but you don’t want to be near me when I sing! I love people, but I need alone time, too! Motivations: The love of God towards me is what motivates me more than anything. I so want others to know this depth of love that I have found. I want to see women set free to enjoy this life that He gives us.
Clay SpencerBackground: I grew up in Norfolk, VA. I have one older brother. My father was in the U.S. Navy for 30 years. I graduated from Parkway High School in St. Louis County, MO. After high school, my parents moved to a farm in Monroe County, MO and lived there 30 years. I graduated from UVA with a Bachelor’s in English. I spent a few years as a hippie on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts. I became devoted to Jesus Christ in 1974 at the age of 25. I first came to Christian Fellowship in the summer of 1977. I graduated from Mizzou in 1980 with an MBA. I worked in state government for a couple of years. I began working for Christian Fellowship in 1983, first as a volunteer and then salaried in 1984. I was married to Kitty McCanse in the spring of 1984. We have four living children: Katie, Sam, Mollie and Matthew. Likes: Next to encountering the Lord, becoming a father has been the greatest joy in my life. I loved all the snuggles, cuddles, giggles, wonders and questions of childhood. I love words, and how powerful they can be. I read a lot of biographies and histories. I love hanging around with my wife and getting to know people. I love it when all my children are home together. I love my two sons-in-law. I especially love my little granddaughter. Motivations: I feel so grateful to have been part of Christian Fellowship for 40 years, to have had such good friends, who have encouraged me, strengthened me, picked me up, and whom I have learned to love.
Children’s Ministry Director
Kaylyn BriscoeBackground: I grew up at Lake of the Ozarks under the care of my outdoorsy and adventurous dad and my mercy-giving and compassionate mom. Northwest Missouri State is where I received my dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I moved to Columbia in 2006 to teach special education for Columbia Public Schools. During this time, God called me to serve as the Children’s Ministry Director at CFC in a full time capacity and I began serving in that way in 2008. My husband and I were married in 2011 and he moved from Kansas City Area to join in the call of God to serve Him with our lives. We were given the gift of parenthood in 2015 to our two beautiful children. Our heart is to love God first, live in Him daily and worship Him in His Church through our lives. Likes: My 6th and 7th passions are nature and travel. On my hardest days, I want to put everything I need in a backpack and go climb a mountain. I love learning how to be a better wife and parent who gets to disciple my kids, other kids and parents too with my husband. We have a dog who we love in spite of her quirks and she loves us back. I aspire to be a fusion chef and organic gardener who lives in a tiny house and travels the countryside with my darling husband when we’re old. Motivations: My daily dependence on God for His purposes in calling me. A vision that God gave me as a child of what He was calling me to that has come to reality still astounds me to this day. He ordains our steps…now I need to rely on my faith muscle memory to get me moving every day. “Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are following the way of Truth!” 3 John 1:4
Director of Member Care
Tara FreemanBackground: My background is a big story with lots of ups and downs, but it all led me to college in Hannibal where I met my husband, Aaron. We got married in the middle of college and moved to Columbia planning only to finish Aaron’s engineering degree before conquering the world together. We found Christian Fellowship through an apartment Doormail add and tried it out the next Sunday. Since that day, it’s been home and family and where our roots have grown deep! Aaron and I have 3 boys, Joshua, Karsten, and Micah, and 1 girl, Halle. Our 4 kids have taught us that you can actually have 4 opposites, how very deep the love of God our father is, and how sweet chaos can be! We have two dogs, Uncle Rico and Sir Tucker the Brave. Likes: I love people. I love nature. I love kids and dogs. I love salty food and I think spice is nice! I love to think and learn, talk and listen, but singing and laughing are my very favorite! Motivations: I’ve wanted to spend my life loving God and His people since I was 12, so I guess this is my dream job! I’ll be honest though, sometimes working at a church can be emotionally and spiritually exhausting, but knowing that I can be a part of someone connecting with love, joy, peace, or comfort makes it easy to press on!
Lori GalaskeBackground: I was born in St. Louis and raised in the Catholic church, attending parochial schools for both elementary and high school. When I was in junior high, my mom’s relationship with Jesus deepened dramatically, and I would periodically go to prayer meetings with her, but it was on a weekday morning, as I trailed into church for mass with my classmates, that God really got my attention. I have been in love with Him ever since! I married my high school sweetheart (Marc) in 1982. A few months later, we moved to Columbia to become a part of what we saw God doing here. I began working for the church office in January of 1993. Likes: The greatest joy of my life (besides our amazing God) is my family: Marc and I have two married children and four grandchildren. When I’m not at work, church, or a family function (Marc and I both come from large families), you’ll find me with books: reading them, listening to them, talking about them, or writing them! I also love to paint with watercolors and to dabble in other creative outlets. Motivations: My passion in my work as the HR Director is our people. We have over 120 staff members who are dedicated and faithful servants. Each one gives sacrificially in their area. It is my desire to both take care of the practical/legal details of employment and benefits and to be a support when issues arise (whatever they may be) in order to allow our staff to focus on what they do best whether that’s teaching, pastoring, answering phones, or keeping our grounds and facilities clean and beautiful.
Director of First Impressions
Debbie KoskeBackground: After growing up in Jefferson City and graduating from Helias High School, I came to Columbia to attend Mizzou. While at Mizzou, I started attending CF, met my husband, Tim, in the college group and got married in this building. We raised our three kids in this church and I was on staff for many years. Our oldest daughter, Stephanie graduate in 2010, our second daughter, Lauren, graduated in 2013 and our son, Sam, just graduated from CFS in 2017. We are transitioning to life without kids at home (so weird!!) and a new job for me. Life is exciting and God is faithful. Likes: I love a good DIY project and I am not afraid of power tools. I eat Blue Bunny frozen yogurt almost every night and Diet Coke is my love language. I am a huge NBA fan and I am so excited that I will get to attend a Trails Blazers’ game this year at the Moda Center!!!! My dream is to have my photo taken with Robin Lopez of the Chicago Bulls. If anyone can make that happen for me, I would be grateful forever. Motivations: I love what I do at CF because after all these years, I still believe that Jesus saves and redeems and He does it best through His local church and His people. I want to be a part of that action. I can still remember my first few visits to CF and I know how much it means to be greeted and remembered and included. I want to do that for other people and hopefully let them know that they are seen and that they matter.
Jeff MoeBackground: Right out of high school, I took a year to go overseas to Denmark to attend the Discipleship Training School and the School of Evangelism with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). After returning to the states, I joined a mission organization in northern MN that worked with Native Americans in remote villages in northern Ontario, Canada. While on outreach, I met my future wife, Mary, and we were married a year later. After getting married, we left the ministry to become trained as an accountant with the intention of coming back to the same mission organization. We did so and served for an additional 5 years as their business manager. In 1994, we moved to Columbia, MO, with our 4 children where I obtained my CPA and worked in a variety of accounting positions and as a CFO for the past 10 years. Once in Columbia we started attending Christian Fellowship Church and have enjoyed the fellowship, volunteering in various ways and going on missions trips around the world (India, Ecuador, Guatemala). In June of 2021, I came to work on staff at Christian Fellowship to serve as Business Director. It’s been like “coming home” to my roots and motivation for why I became an accountant in the first place. Likes: Being outside in nature feeds and refreshes my soul. I enjoy hanging out with my best friend, Mary, in the evenings on our back deck overlooking the woods. Motivations: I love being a husband, with 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren. None live in Missouri, so that means vacations to where they are! I have really enjoyed this journey of embracing and maturing into my identity in Christ and to see His grace expressed in the lives of those I work with and relate to. This is an amazing group of people!
Matt NorthBackground: Before joining the church team, I served Christian Fellowship School as IT Director for two years. Likes: My biggest Hobby is coaching the CFS middle school soccer team. Motivations: My favorite part of being in the CF team is seeing God’s gifts shining through our members inside the ministries.
Director of Healing Ministries
Jo ScottBackground: I grew up in Southern California before coming to Missouri for college. While at college I met my Minnesotan husband and we married after our sophomore year. Since Missouri is as centrally located as we could get, we decided to stay. Since graduating college, we have had a few kids, been home parents at Coyote Hill Christian Children Home, become foster and adoptive parents and settled in Columbia for the long term. It is safe to say our lives have revolved around the raising and enriching the lives of children. Likes: I enjoy activities that I can do around other people that involve my hands. I love crocheting, knitting, reading books and crossword puzzles. Basically, anything I can do settle my mind, but can engage others if I choose. Motivations: I love the opportunity to engage in community with like hearted people. People who look forward to the joy of pouring the love of Christ into our families through their children.
Andrew SwansonBackground: I was born and raised in central Iowa, and I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Elementary Education, but I’ve always loved the ‘behind-the-scenes’ details of production. I’ve helped with the technical side of church production since I was in middle school, and have been doing it full-time since I graduated college. I moved to Columbia in 2020 and joined the CF staff. I am married to my best friend Kendall, and we both love our Christian Fellowship family! Likes: I grew up on a farm, and love to drive tractors with my dad and grandpa. I am a novice drummer. I love adventuring with Kendall in new places, including the outdoors and trying new experiences. Netflix and playing video games are my favorite ways to relax. And I love eating good food! Motivations: I’ve always been a detail person, and I especially love the intricacies of the production environment. It’s fun to get to see all the details of audio, video, and lighting come together to enhance a worship experience. I also love getting to work alongside other servants of Jesus, because we are a stronger team when we are all pulling on the rope.
Head of School
Max VikhterBackground: I was born in the USSR and immigrated to the United States as a refugee. My family settled in Chicago, where I spent most of my life. As a musician I sought glory on a stage; but Glory found me in a classroom when I was called to serve as an educator. I served in the Salvation Army and in Chicago Public Schools before moving to Columbia with my wife Sarah, and our son Nick. Likes: I enjoy playing and participating in music both for recreation as well as in service of God. Music is a unifying force that brings people together. God has used music to shape my life, and I have seen Him do so in the lives of others. Motivations: I have a big vision for 21st Century Learning as it intersects with Christian Education. But I know God's vision is even bigger. I am motivated by seeing our students at CFS demonstrate spiritual and academic growth through true-to-life learning experiences. Together with our families and with our church community, we are raising up the next Spirit-filled generation of servant-leaders.
Ministry Support Team
Facilities Team Member
Brian CollierBackground: I grew up in Kansas City and came to Mizzou in the fall of 99. I only lasted a little over a year as a college student before dropping out and working where I could. After my first child was born, my work moved inside the home and I spent 15 years as a stay at home dad to four amazing people. When the need for me to be home full time lessened, I took my skillset of learning to fix most everything as it became necessary, and keeping my surroundings clean and presentable and put them to the use for the church. Likes: I’m a gamer. If there’s at least a 1 in 4 chance of beating others or beating my own average score, whether it’s darts, table top games, disc golf, horseshoes, or anything close to those, it sounds fun to me already. Throw in some deep conversation about psychology, sociology, history, or theology and I’m loving every minute of it. Motivations: I love service. The idea that your efforts can make another person’s life better feels to me like the secret to personal happiness. The fact that one’s efforts can be invisible or taken for granted doesn’t lessen the appeal of service for me. The object is seeing that others have a better experience because I did a little work.
Outreach & Connections Coordinator
Jenna CuniganBackground: I was born in Massachusetts (Go Red Sox!) and was raised and home schooled all over the country. I graduated from Mizzou in 2010 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and again in 2011 with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. After graduation I taught 4th and 3rd graders for 6 years. I became a domestic engineer (aka stay-at-home mom) after my son was born. I continue to raise and home school my son and daughter at home while also juggling 3-4 side hustles to help support the family. I love the privilege of helping the CF staff plan and host events. Likes: My hobbies range from "Gee, that sounds swell" to "No thanks, I'll pass." I used to play roller derby here in Columbia and still occasionally look longingly at my skates and gear. I have a hard time turning down a piece of furniture I think I can refurbish; Any excuse to get out the power tools and paint. I also enjoy reading, writing, and more reading. I love baking and watching anything comedic like it's going out of style. Currently, I'm teaching myself to watercolor. Usually you can find me changing a diaper, building a lego structure, or cooking a meal - but not always in that order. Motivations: Here at Christian Fellowship I get to be a part of a genuine family of believers. Serving and hosting events puts me right in the middle of people - a place I love to be. It's a great way to make connections, build friendships, and walk through life together with others. I also love the multi-generational aspect of the church; Learning from the experience and wisdom of the elders and gaining inspiration to carry on the torch of grace, mercy and The Gospel.
Becky HodillBackground: I worked at the University of Missouri for 8 years, 5 of those as an Administrative Assistant in the Office of Advancement at the School of Law. During that time I was involved in planning events for the Law School and our Alumni. After having our son in September 2015, I left to become a stay at home mom. Likes: I love to sew, make jewelry and garden. My husband and kids are very important to me and I just love spending time with them. Motivations: Getting to be a part of this amazing community of believers is very fulfilling to me. I love getting to look at the big picture of why we are here and then make it happen together with our church family.
Amanda SchumakerBackground: I was born and raised in southeast Iowa. I got my B.S. degree in Elementary Education but decided after years in childcare that teaching wasn’t for me. In 2011 I married my husband, Nate, who at the time was an active duty Marine stationed near the coast in North Carolina. When he got out in 2013 we moved back to the Midwest. He completed his college degree and we settled in Columbia in 2015 where Nate started his career at 3M. We had our only child, Madison Rae, in October of 2017. She is a beautiful bundle of energy who keeps us on our toes. In the fall of 2019 I started my job at Christian Fellowship and have loved it! I truly believe God brought this job into my life and it has been such a blessing! Likes: I like to coach or play volleyball. I enjoy my gardens, cooking and baking, reading, travel, movies, but mostly just hanging at home with my family. Motivations: Life has been a big adjustment since our daughter came into the world. I stayed home with her fulltime the first 2 years of her life and love that I got to, but now I work two days a week and love what I do! I get to be home with my daughter most of the time, but also get to work in a wonderful environment at a job that challenges me and I enjoy!
Assistant Facilities Director
Derik StottBackground: I moved to Columbia the summer of ’88 and attended CFS and graduated in ’93. I attended Columbia College for 2 years and then a semester at Texas A&M in Galveston in their Maritime Academy. I started working maintenance at Toastmaster Inc. in ’99 and worked there for 10 years before they were closed down. Worked at CIS for 3 years and came to Fellowship after that and have been here for 3 years. I married my wife, Elizabeth, in 2013 and we have a 16 month girl, Annabelle. Likes: As of right now my hobbies are being a husband and father. Motivations: I’ve always liked figuring out how things work and fixing/building things with my hands and kind of fell into maintenance. I also like helping others and seeing things run smoothly.
Elizabeth StottBackground: I grew up here in Columbia, Missouri, attending Christian Fellowship Church with my mom and sister. I also attended CFS and graduated from there just a handful of years ago (or a bit more than that ago – eeh!). I had the opportunity to live in South Africa in 2007, and began working for the church after I returned from there in the beginning of 2008. Around that same time, I began to get more acquainted with the man who would be my future husband – Derik Stott. We were good friends for quite some time, began dating in 2012, and got married in 2013. Our beautiful little girl, Annabelle Grace, joined our family in April of 2016. We could not be more blessed. Likes: Two key joys in my life come from being a Mama and a Wife. I greatly enjoy our time together as a family; to have fun together, to grow together, and to simply walk through life together. We love to spend time with our friends and we greatly enjoy getting to go through life with them. I also am thankful and so appreciative of the girlfriends that God has surrounded me with – time with them is life-giving. Motivations: Grace is one thing I am quite passionate about, and motivates me in may ways - to know His Grace and to be a part of others getting to see and experience it. An acquaintance that I met, whose name is Grace, mentioned to me not long ago that we are not only to live in grace (to see it for others and receive it for ourselves)…. but that we are designed to live in His grace. This is not something that we simply receive (or don’t receive) in walking through life… He designed us to receive grace.
Becky Jo Roberts
Communications & Creative Design Coordinator
Becky Jo RobertsBackground: I grew up in a small rural town in Missouri until I came to Columbia in 2009 to attend the University of Missouri for college. I earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications with minors in art and public service and leadership. My sophomore year a friend told me about CF and I have been coming here ever since. Throughout my college career I grew to appreciate the beautiful community of CF as well as Columbia as a whole, so I stayed. After graduation I worked for MU in various capacities until July 2017 when I became a staff member here at the church. Likes: I enjoy being in nature so spending time outside is great to me, this can include hiking, kayaking, swimming or just sitting in the sun. Another thing I enjoy is working with my hands. This looks very different depending on the day. One day could be fixing a sink in my house and the next could look like me crocheting up a storm. Motivations: One of my biggest passions is people. I love to spend time with others and hear what makes them tick. To see someone light up as they find their identity and live out the passions God gave them is beautiful. Getting to be a part of people discovering and developing a relationship with Christ and others is to me pretty awesome.

I also serve on their board of directors. Motivations: I have an affinity for double entry accounting, supporting and encouraging my co-workers and loving Jesus. This makes being a “church accountant” pretty much my dream job.
